It is with great sorrow that the family of Lucas Eli Babbs announces his passing on April 8, 2018 at the age of 32. Lucas will be remembered by his wife Kyla, parents David, Jane and Patricia, sisters Erica (Ted) and Anna, and brother Jackson (Jackie). A proud Colorado native, Lucas attended high school at Colorado’s Finest High School of Choice as well as college at Metro State University. Lucas was a bright light to all who knew him and cared deeply for his friends and family, and his laughter and smile was truly remarkable as well as contagious. Although his time on Earth was far too short, his beautiful spirit touched each person he knew and he will be deeply missed. A memorial service and open house celebrating Lucas’ life will be held on April 22, 2018 at The Inn at Hudson Gardens from 2:30-4:30 pm. We invite all who knew and loved Lucas to pay their respects and share favorite memories of our dear friend.

Hello David and Patricia, its Brandon Beckwith; long time no see. I’m very sorry about your loss. Too young. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen or really known Lucas, but we had a lot of great laughs and good times. He is definitely a unique person. Also, it was always inspiring to see what a real father and son relationship could be. I wish all of you strength and love.

  2. Alejandro And Paola Jimenez's :

We met Lucas at Jackson’s first apartment with his now wife Jackie we had our first boy of just months old and since my wife did not speak any English at the time we were in a corner together . Lucas came over and introduce himself and made us feel welcome by talking in Spanish with my wife about soccer since she is from Argentina, that was the kindest person we ever met we Love Jackson an Lucas and our hearts are broken, we will never forget how genuine and kind human being he was, we are praying for his soul and for his family to find resignation after this immense loss.

  3. Lucas, may your soul find the peace it so richly deserved. I love you, Erica

  4. My heart hurts with yours for the loss of Lukas. He was far to young. But now he has found his peace and sings with Angels. You will see him again one day. Maybe he has met up with Justin. I am truly sorry for your pain. Rest in Paradise Lukas❤️

  5. This is a tragedy. Lucas was an amazing person who truly did have a great big heart. I will miss him dearly.

  6. “Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing to help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don’t know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it is those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them – we can love completely without complete understanding.”
― Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It and Other Stories

I’m lucky enough to love everyone in Lucas’ family tree and my heart is broken.

  7. He was always such a good guy, and like family to us. He always brought a smile to your face and was always a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed and my thoughts and prayers are with his entire family. I only knew Lucas and Jackson but both were always very polite and always welcome at our home. My heart goes out to you on this tragic loss.

  8. Lucas,

You are the bright light, your smile radiated to our hearts, and you will always be the sweetest. Your spirit will be carried forever in our hearts and souls.

    We love you ❤️

    To Luke’s family and friends,

We are very sorry for your loss.
While it has been many years, I’ll never forget the times I had playing with Jackson and Lucas as kids. Luke was always kind, gentle, and thoughtful. He will always have a place in my heart and I’ll never forget his laugh.

    With love,

  13. jeffrey Michael Wool :

To the entire Babbs’ family, I am sorry for your loss

Lucas, my heart is broken now that you are no longer with us. I want to acknowledge how kind you were to me throughout all my life. Lucas had let me live with him when I had nowhere to go, he always took care of his friends and loved them deeply. This was even more evident as I continued to age. His friendship changed how I operate as a human being. I have been speechless since your passing. Days feel longer that you are no longer in the world, my friend. Your memory is something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. I’ll see you again, Luke.

“Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
    keep peace in your soul.”

    Desiderata
