Douglas Gillespie was born on July 22, 1950 to Patricia and Harold Gillespie in Three Rivers, Michigan and died on March 31, 2018 in Denver, CO. Doug is survived by his mother, Patricia Doak, his loving wife Sandy, and 5 children: two daughters, Brooke (Jeremy) Gallegos, Blair (Tony) Provenzano; stepdaughters Holly Graves, and Brianne (Joe) Neville, and stepson Travis Picadura. Doug was very proud of his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Doug was preceded in death by his father.

Doug lived in Michigan, Texas, and Arizona early in his life and made Colorado his home in the 1980's. It was in Denver that Doug met Sandy and they were married on November 11, 2000. They joyfully took on life's challenges together.

Doug was baptized on May 16, 1966 (Sandy was baptized that same year) and unknowingly, they attended several of the same conventions as children.

Doug was a generous man of many talents, but never wanted to be the center of attention. He loved cars, motorcycles, being by the ocean, and sailing. He could shoehorn a boat in practically anywhere. He worked as a lineman and later as a contractor, always with an eye for detail, a superior work ethic, and a keen sense of fairness. Doug loved talking with his girls about cars, work, vacations, and Jehovah. And in recent years, he loved being around the house with Sandy and their dog Xena.

Doug loved Jehovah God and his wonderful promise to restore justice and peace in a future paradise here on earth. He had a strong sense of loyalty to Jehovah and his Son, Jesus, and is now safe in Jehovah's memory.

  2. Loren & Carol Hilton. Dawsonville, GA. :

Doug & Sandy have been such dear friends! We have known Sandy longer, but when she and Doug married her life brightened up. They loved each other so much and he was such a thoughtful, generous, hard working, fun loving person. His life gave evidence that he put Jehovah God first in his personal and family pursuits. Oh how we look forward to welcoming our loving brother, Doug, back in the very near promised resurrection!! And to spend forever getting to know him even better! Until then, we will all miss him greatly, especially his wife Sandy!

  3. Phyllis and Guy Bleau :

We certainly enjoyed Doug’s company on the occasions when we met. Our sincerest sympathies go out to his whole family, especially his dear wife, Sandy. We look forward to seeing Doug again in Jehovah’s new world where all our loved ones that have passed away and are in Jehovah’s memory will be back with us to enjoy a beautiful paradise earth and service to our God forever!

  4. Ted and Betsy Williams :

Everyone loved Doug. He was a “good guy” to everyone and we were shocked and deeply saddened at his passing. We look forward to proving faithful to “our end” whatever that may be and see Doug in the paradise that we all are convinced will be the blessing for mankind. Because we know this promise is true, Doug is sure to have eternity to shoehorn his boat in thousands of beautiful acquatic places throughout the new world. Can’t wait to take a ride with him on that boat! May Jehovah’s tender compassion and strength help you all to endure this seamingly impossible time of endurance.

  5. Mark & peggy walker :

Oooooh man Uncle Dougly what the heck?????? We are so sad to have you not be with us but we know Jehovah will call and you will answer in fact Jehovah has already scheduled the day. In the meantime we are weeping with my sister but Jehovah will cradle her in his arms until she sees you again. We will take care of her too and make sure she will be there

  6. Brianne Picadura- Neville :

Doug I hoped you knew how very special you were to Joe, the kids (Jordan, Lilli, Arya, Scarlett and especially myself.
You were a very good man in everyway. You helped fill a empty hole in my heart when I lost my dad. And now my heart has 2 holes for each dad I lost. You were a person I could always count on to be there and someone who I could always talk to.
I will really miss the movie nights, motorcycle rides (Joe will miss that fun), going in service (Jordan will miss his service partner), working with you and Brad (especially the banter between you both), seeing the girls (Lilli and Arya) happy always bugging you about going on a ride in your new “Spy Car” (Corvette), there’s so many things I could name off.
You became our families spiritual center always a great example of being dedicated to Jehovah.
I can’t wait until you wake up in the paradise. I can see it now both you and my dad will be checking yourselves out in the mirror looking at your full heads of hair lol. I can’t wait until I hug you again. Love you more than you ever knew.
