Carl, I am so sorry about Erica passing away. I hope you will take comfort in knowing that she left an impact on so many people and will be missed terribly. Erica was really a sweet soul and always had wonderful things to say about you. I’m personally going to miss her huge hugs (for such a tiny gal) and her smile. God bless you in your time of healing.

    Carl,
I go back to our days at Yankee Ridge through to our high school years of Orchesis dance club. Erica was a sweetheart, with an infectious laugh. She was artistic and bright and had great taste in her political views. She will be greatly missed.

Although Erica and I knew each other as early as Urbana Junior High School, we didn’t become close until we worked together in college at the Univ. of Illinois Music Library. Then our social circles overlapped and we took some classes together, and became forever bonded together in spirit. She remains one of the most important women in my entire time here on this planet for many reasons…..too many to list. Carl, you helped her to be the best Erica that she could be!

    Carl,
So very sad to hear of your loss. My memories of Erica are mainly from the 4th of July picnics at Barbara & Dale Lyon’s home. She was such a congenial, energetic person. I can only imagine how this changes your life. My wife, Jan, joins me in sympathy.

Carl, I am so sad to hear of your loss. Most recently Erica and I would walk around the Square when we both worked downtown Madison, but my fondest memories are of my childhood friend and neighbor in Urbana. Some of the happiest times of my life were spent in the company of an always cheerful Erica.

    Dear Carl,
    family and fellow friends,

To know Erica was to love and admire Erica. Always kind, positive, funny, creative, passionate, stylish, literary, interesting and interested! Devoted to her parents and to Carl. Loved her pup, Sharpee. Favorite things in life were curling up with a book and a glass of wine! She disliked talking on the phone. Loved to travel to new places and to visit friends. She made her mark and will be missed by all who knew her.
